Description
Entry level TR7 Convertible re-finished in black with smart roof and
2.0 litre engine; considerable history file and spend through 2006; off the road
for the last 15 years with only 37 miles covered since last MOT in
2008
Dating from March 1980 this striking late model Triumph TR7
Convertible is finished in Black with matching black vinyl hood and sits on a
set of after-market 11-spoke 16in alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet,
we find the typical 2.0 litre 8-valve four-cylinder engine driving the rear
wheels via five-speed manual transmission. We note fitment of a tubular exhaust
manifold and big bore exhaust too including Powerflow back
box.
Inside, we find a black vinyl
interior that looks to have been renewed at some point along with some carbon
fibre effect trim wrap along with red vinyl wrapped trim around the gear stick
and handbrake along with red infused gauges plus retro-fit steering
wheel.
We are told the car has been
off the road for the last 15 years and will require a new battery but did run
with a jump pack. The last MOT expired in
2009 after issue at 92,871 miles (currently showing 92,908). The car’s
bodywork looks to be straight enough although it has been re-painted in a satin
black finish.
The history file looks to be
considerable and shows evidence of considerable historic spend through 2006 with
a bill dated June 1995 recording fitment of a reconditioned engine, new Mohair
hood in 1997 and Halogen light conversion amongst many others along with the
V5C, some TR7/TR8 parts catalogues and a Haynes
manual.
An appealing opportunity to
recommission this TR7 Convertible and get it back on the road where it
belongs.
