Description
Charming RHD 304 Convertible on offer from a deceased estate; a much
loved example that looks to have covered just 57,473 miles with history and MOTs
dating back to the late 70s
Dating from August 1975, this
very late little Peugeot 304 Convertible looks wonderfully dainty yet
purposeful, finished in light blue sat upon its original 14in steel wheels with
polished hubcaps and black vinyl roof.
Under the bonnet, we find the
typical 1288cc four-cylinder petrol engine which developed 75Bhp and 101Nm of
torque when new with power being sent to the front wheels in typical Peugeot
style via a four-speed manual transmission. Braking comes from discs at the front
and drums on the rear.
Inside, we find a nicely worn
tan leather interior with matching carpets and black vinyl tonneau cover. Kit includes a heater, manual windows, a
cigarette lighter a clock and a more modern radio cassette
player.
On offer, sadly from a
deceased estate, the car hasn’t seen much action since the demise of the owner a
couple of years ago with the car’s title passing to his wife, although the car
has been with them for the last 20 years. Used lightly, but it has
been regularly and enjoyed throughout the summer months by
them.
The history file includes the
V5C showing just four former keepers (the current and last being husband and
wife), two old V5C’s, a considerable number of ‘The Peugeotist’ magazines, at
least 21 old MOTs dating back to 1978 at 21,675 miles. (currently showing 57,473
miles, believed genuine, with a few hundred covered each year in recent years)
Reams of historic bills for parts and works undertaken are included, dating back
to the 1970s.
A lovely little car with scope
for some cosmetic improvement in a few areas, with signs of micro-blistering to
the boot lid as shown, these little 304’s are a joy with their dainty looks and
peppy, eager engines.
