Description
Appealing pre-facelift Vitesse Six FHC from five-year ownership;
1.6-litre six-cylinder twin-carb engine; front disc brakes; Webasto
sunroof
Dating from December 1962 this
handsome Michelotti-styled Triumph Vitesse Six FHC is finished in powder blue
with the usual white streak down the sides and distinctive 'Chinese-eye' quad
headlamp front end. Sat on its original wheels with standard front disc brakes,
the car looks well.
Under the bonnet, we find the
70bhp 1596cc six-cylinder engine fitted with twin Solex semi-downdraught carbs
driving the rear wheels via four-speed manual transmission which made it good
for a claimed top speed of 90mph.
Inside this
pre-facelift example we find the large single dial as found in the Herald, wood
dash and door cappings, two replacement front seats in cream vinyl and pull back
Webasto-style sunroof.
The history file includes
only the V5C showing six former keepers to the current business owner of five
years.
Starting promptly and running well as we
moved it around for these photos, this looks to be a good, solid, pre-facelift
Vitesse Six at an appealing price-point.
