Description
Lovely, late 4.0 Celebration from 15 year lady ownership showing just
70,050 miles driven 100 miles to the sale
Supplied new by Lancaster Jaguar of Sevenoaks, Kent in July 1996
this beautiful Blue Jaguar XJS Celebration is one of the very last 75 built and
is finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic and sits on its set of Celebration model
specific 16 inch alloy wheels and looks a treat to behold, the last of the XJS
being arguably the best of the bunch and was driven some 100 miles to the
sale.
Under the bonnet, we find the 4.0 AJ16
six-cylinder engine which drives the rear wheels via four-speed ZF automatic
transmission which offers all the performance you’d likely need in such a svelte
coupe without the consumption of the V12.
Inside this Celebration example we find embossed Ivory leather
seats piped mushroom, light Elm wood trim which extends to the hand brake and
steering wheel too. In addition, we
also note electric seat operation, cruise control, electric windows, electric
mirrors, trip computer, air conditioning and original radio cassette
player.
This car shows just 70,060 miles and
has been with our lady vendor since April 2007, being loved by her and used
sparingly, maintained by an independent Specialist in Swansea during their
tenure and presents well bar some minor blistering on the front scuttle and sill
end as pictured, along with some minor staining to the rear seat squab and
slight droop to the headlining as we see with almost every XJS
Coupe.
The history file includes the V5C
revealing just four former keepers, an old V5C, the owner’s pack and service
book recording some 11 stamps, the most recent in May 2021 at 69,286 miles. In addition, we also find an
accompanying file including photographs, at least 15 old MOTs, magazines, the
current MOT valid until August 2023 recording four minor advisories and a
selection of bills for parts and routine maintenance dating back to 2001
including some useful works in 2021/2022 on suspension bushes, lambda sensors
and AC re-gas plus email correspondence from the Jaguar archivist relating to
the lateness of the car off the production line.
A very complete and low mileage example from the last handful of
the Celebration built from long term lady ownership in an appealing colour
combination. Sort the little
cosmetic bits out - this could be a shrewd buy at the guide price
indicated.
