1977 Teal 4-Seat Tourer
From a deceased
estate; Morris Marina 1.8 twin carb engine; aluminium body; transferable number
plate; for recommissioning following a period in storage
This
aluminium-bodied Teal 4-Seater was built in 1989/90, as shown in an album of
photos in the history file. The donor vehicle was a 1977 Morris Marina with a
1.8 twin carb engine, registration number ATU 502S. The V5C records it as a Teal
Tourer and it now has a personalised plate, PIB 6397, which is transferable and
goes with the car.
On offer here from a
deceased estate, it has been in the current ownership since 2014. There is no
real history with the car but an online MOT history check shows that it was last
submitted for an MOT in April 2009 which it passed with no advisories, the
mileage at that time being 6,505. It is now showing 6,853 miles on the odometer.
As you can see in the photos, the aluminium
bodywork looks to be in very good shape and the paint finish is also good. The
interior is also generally good and just needs a thorough cleaning. We are told
that shortly before the auction, the car was fitted with a new battery, the
spark plugs were cleaned, and it was soon coaxed into life, running nicely with
no smoke or untoward noises. However, it cannot be driven because the
clutch is stuck and the brakes need attention and we have not attempted to start
it ourselves.
On offer here at a modest guide
price, it shouldn’t take too much to get it back on the road where it
belongs.
