Description
1998 Jaguar XKR (X100)
Pretty supercharged
Coupe in Pheonix red showing 93,920 miles; in the same ownership since 2002;
nice registration A1 OAW included
Supplied new by
H.R. Owen of Colchester, Essex at the Jaguar Cars Ambassador launch, Packington
Hall, Coventry on the 6th May 1998 this early X100 series XKR is
finished in the launch colour of Phoenix Red and sits upon its original 18”
staggered fitment Double-Five alloy wheels.
Under the sleek, vented bonnet we find the thumping 4.0 litre
supercharged AJ26S engine which develops 370bhp and a monstrous 525NM of torque
giving phenomenal performance and a zero to sixty time of just 5.4 seconds.
Power is delivered by five-speed automatic transmission to the rear
wheels.
Inside this big cat, we find cream
leather interior boasting heated electric seats with driver memory function,
contrasting black carpets and dash top roll, dark wood trim, cruise control,
electric windows and mirrors, Harmon Kardon sound system with CD changer,
automatic digital climate control with AC, XKR embossed timber and leather
multi-function steering wheel, automatic lights and wipers and electric lumbar
adjustment.
The car comes to us from a deceased
estate and shows 93,920 miles the car having been in the current ownership since
August 2002 and includes the rather attractive private registration ‘A1 OAW’
which has a value of its own.
The history file
for this Lot includes the V5C revealing three former keepers, the owners pack
and Service Book recording 12 stamps, the last in November 2009 at 77,852 miles
by Hartlebury Specialist Car Care of Worcs, with eight of the stamps all Jaguar
main dealers. In addition, we also
find one old MOT two old style V5C’s, recent invoice for a lube service dated
June 2021 at 93,617 miles, a historic service bill from 2009 and correspondence
between the first owner, a business (WH Group) and the 2nd, the user who
purchased his former company car from his employer and subsequent purchase
receipt dated May 2002.
The car displays
the usual minor sagging of the head-lining and has shown an intermittent
ABS/ASC warning light. It has been on site for a while, during which time its
previous no advisory MOT has expired so that is a job for the 'to do list'. It's
recently expired ticket also shows that it has covered only c.1,500 miles
in the last four years.
